Abstract:
ISO-octyl stearate was synthesized by transesterification of methyl stearate and ISO-octanol with Di-butyl tin oxide (n-Bu2SnO) as catalyst. The effects of reaction temperature, Catalyst dosage, reaction time and material ratio on the transesterification were investigated. Under normal pressure, the reaction temperature is 140 ℃, the molar ratio of n-Bu2SnO to methyl stearate is 0.0114:1, and the molar ratio of methyl stearate to isooctyl alcohol is 1:1.5, the yield of ISO-octyl stearate was 89.0%. The catalytic activity of n-Bu2SnO was almost unchanged after 5 cycles. The structure of n-Bu2SnO was characterized by IR and XRD before and after reaction.Key words:

Abstract:
The possibility and suitable dosage of stearic acid isooctyl ester (EHO) as plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride resin and its effect on the rheological properties of polyvinyl chloride were studied. The experimental results show that EHO can only be used as an auxiliary plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride, and the suitable dosage is 5~10 PHR. When EHO and dioctyl phthalate (DOP) are mixed at 5:45, it can improve the tensile strength, elongation at break and cold resistance of PVC soft products. At the same time, through the rheological property experiment, it is found that EHO has a good lubricating effect in PVC hard plastics.Key words:

Application | diisooctyl sebacate is an excellent low-temperature plasticizer, commonly used in PVC cable materials, the field of plasticizing applications of cold-resistant films and artificial leather and other resins. At the same time, it also has an important use as a base oil of biomass-based lubricating oil, which can be used as a base oil of jet engine lubricating oil due to its high temperature resistance, low temperature resistance, biodegradability and other characteristics. |
